The Things We Do

While some patients might doze, The worried relatives with them scroll. What did we do before smartphones? (The new worry beads and rosaries) We patients scroll too; We all do, All manner of dozing and scrolling, Trying to pass the time here, Every one of us. We look into screens And look out of windows, We doze. And repeat. Before, during, after Needles into arms And letting the treatment roll, We doze And we scroll, A wardfull of Dozers and scrollers... Trying to deal with the scared.
