A New New Testament: A Reading From

(Immunotherapy, No 7b)

I read a new New Testament here, And don't even have one with me. I don't need it - it surrounds me here. I recognise so many: the widow and her mite, The blind man, The Marys and Marthas, The Good Samaritan And the Magdalene To name but a few. All are here, The doubters and believers. Everpresent too, The gardener, He next to the empty tomb On that morning of Great Risings. He sneaks in here, Unrecognised (except for the Magdalene) Keeping watch over us all. If there were An Oncology Day Ward in his day, He'd have been there too. Count on it. And if some ceiling tiles Were to be removed And someone lowered down On a pallet, Looking for some cure, Some help, Some anything, It would not surprise me, In this New New Testament Here. The Oncology Day Ward. Now. Five days a week.
