Tired, worry, weary,
Coughs with a backstory -
And more.
States of fragile, vulnerable:
Body and mind,
On this 22nd of December, 2023.
None of us got here overnight;
We have worked up to it
Even before we knew it.
It took awhile
To get this far,
To meet up
For the first time
Or again and again.
And every special now and then,
Like a longed-for shower of rain
Or sunshine after too many
Dirty old clouds,
Finally -
There is laughter -
Sometimes quiet
Other times raucous.
This ward has room for it,
Welcomes it.
Really.
