Biopsies Need A Distraction
I can't look.
The probe goes in
And I concentrate on the ceiling.
It doesn't really help,
But I still can't look.
U.S. politics - it saves the day.
She probes, extracts, delivers the specimens,
Checks the screen
And repeats,
As we talk U.S. politics throughout,
A good distraction
As I continue to scour the ceiling;
I know every inch of it above me,
As we discuss the campaign,
The outcome, the madness of it all.
Just a twinge on my part
As she probes, extracts
And repeats -
Easier than the last time:
We didn't discuss politics then.
This time we did
And thank God for it -
And for the radiologist.
A delight.
(And how often can you say that
About a biopsy - and the radiologist?!)
